Thon Hotel Polar - Tromso

Very nice, smiling and helful staff. Good location.

A small thing but having a hot drinks vending machine available in reception when you come in from a night looking at the Northern Lights is a real treat. Breakfast was also very good and varied.

Early check-in, airy and en suite rooms with a single bed. Location close enough to food places and a supermarket, a bus stop to go to the airport and a restaurant...

We had to change rooms as the room (258) was above the restaurant and very noisy until 1am and from 5am.

I didn't stay at the Thon Polar but at Thon Tromso. There was a mistake in our booking and we were upgraded to the hotel over the road. I have answered the questions for Thon Tromso.The best thing was the friendliness and calm efficiency of the staff at both hotels.

No chocolate in the drinks machine and no milk available for tea without asking everytime.

Good breakfast selection but room was a bit cramped with limited daylight.

Nice view from the 8th floor! Room was small but tidy and comfortable.

I would have liked to buy a glass of wine or a small bottle from a mini bar but there was none to be had. I had to go to the restaurant next door.

Good location in city centre. Good buffet breakfast served in adjacent chain restaurant (Egon). Rooms are smallish but very clean and quiet (except for the seagulls screaming 24h a day, probably unavoidable anywhere in the city). Friendly staff, free internet in the lobby.

During our stay the hotel was full, and many breakfast buffet items occasionally run out. Not a lot of locker/drawer space in the room.

Helpful and friendly staff.Comfortable and pleasant room in a very central location for Tromso and the airport. Egons restaurent had a good menu and ambience. I would certainly recommend Thon to others:)

The hair dryer in the roomj did not work and the coffee in the foyer was terrible.
